At the end of our six month program, two volumes of this beautiful book, with your words and stories on the inside, will be yours to keep forever.
We Two, Always
My deepest wish is that I hadn’t waited until it was too late to write the story of my mom and me.
That book is my treasure, but if I could go back in time to before she passed away, we would write it together. But I know that we are eternal: we have always been together, and we always will be. Our time - our story - is simply the middle of always.
I created Holding Time to help you document your lives together, and make the "Always" permanent.
The Experience
Holding Time: In The Middle of Always is a 6-month online guided journey for one mother and one daughter. It is a dedicated sanctuary where we use somatic movement to unlock the memories stored in the body and reflective writing to capture them on the page.
This is not a "class" you take; it is a legacy you build.
As a participant in this journey, you will receive:
The Somatic Bridge: Guided yoga (each participant can choose chair-based or mat-based) movement sessions designed to regulate your nervous systems and open the door to deep, honest conversation. This is how we unlock your stories. No experience necessary, with movement tracks for all levels, including limited, chair-based accessible flows. There is also a track for beginner yogis, as well as one for intermediate practitioners.
Access to The Practice Vault: You’ll receive lifetime access to our online yoga, meditation, and writing portal, with hundreds of videos and classes to immerse yourself in weekly, or daily. Keep your practice thriving and meaningful, always.
Group Inspiration: As part of an exclusive mother-daughter cohort, you’ll have peers to share with and learn from throughout the program. Group online classes, meetings, and chatroom to stay inspired and motivated.
The Wisdom Extraction: Private, facilitated storytelling sessions where I help you pull the "gold" from your shared history. Here, we’ll dig deep and organize your notes, prioritize your stories, and draw out the framework for your heirloom book
The Heirloom Book: A professionally curated, designed, and hardbound volume of your journey—a physical record of your "we two, always" to be passed down for generations. I’ll give you the tools you need to organize, curate, and write the content and stories you’d like to include. The interior of the book will be your words, formatted into a professional layout. Together, we’ll design your customized cover, title, and select imagery.
The Journey
Designed for the non-writer
Most of us don't consider ourselves "writers," and that is exactly why the Holding Time method was created. You don't need a background in literature to have a legacy worth holding. You only need the willingness to listen to what your body and your heart already know.
You are the Storyteller; I am the Architect. This journey is specifically designed for the non-writer. While seasoned authors are welcome, our process is built on Somatic Extraction—a way of using gentle movement to un-bottle"stories so they flow naturally into conversation, rather than struggling against a blinking cursor on a screen.
You’re not in this alone.
The Extraction Method: We don't wait for "inspiration." We use specific somatic prompts to pull the "gold" from your history.
Professional Curation: You bring the raw memories; I provide the tools to organize, prioritize, and structure them into a narrative that flows.
Publishing House Included: You don't have to worry about margins, bleed lines, or font sizes. While you focus on the connection with your mother or daughter, we are behind the scenes formatting your words into a gallery-grade interior and a custom-designed cover.
Think of it this way: You bring the seeds of your history, and together we will tend the garden until it becomes a permanent family heirloom.
Our Cadence Together
This is a high-touch, private experience designed to fit into your busy life. Over our six months together, we move through a rhythmic cycle:
The Monthly Sanctuary: One monthly 75-minute live online session for you and your mother or daughter, where we explore memories and stories together. These story extraction sessions help you organize the precious artifacts of your life that you’d like to include.
The Somatic Story Lab: Two monthly group live online sessions with the other members of the cohort. Here, we will move together—flowing through mindful movement practices. Whether on a mat or in a chair, the practices are inclusive and gentle. We’ll share tools, methods, and inspiration, to help you turn your memories into the specific chapter(s) we will build that month.
The Design Portal: You’ll have a private digital space where you can upload your writing, photos, and “scraps of history” that belong in your book, while I begin the interior book layout. Here, you’ll provide feedback for the book cover I create, to ensure it exceeds your expectation.
Meet Your Guide, Laura
I am a somatic writing guide, yoga teacher, and a legacy architect. But more importantly, I’m a daughter who knows the value of a story anchored in time. I created Holding Time to be the sanctuary I wish I’d had—a place where the wisdom of our mothers and the energy of our daughters can finally be transcribed into a living heirloom on the page. I’ll be your partner through every somatic breath, and every chapter we build, together.
“Some relationships are eternal. It seems you have always been together, and you always will be. Your time together—your story—is simply the middle of always.”
